Ajuda, Belém and Restelo 3 are very desirable areas by being located near the river and have pleasant green spaces.
Very touristic area composed by the Famous Belem Tour, the magnificent Mosteiro dos Jernimos, The artistic CCB and of course the world known custard cakes, Belem is where the official house of the President is and where lisbonners spend their week-ends in town.
It will be very easy to rent a flat for tourists but it is also a pleasant area to live in, even if it is not considered the center of the capital.
Ajuda, the picturesque neighborhood over Belem, will charm you by its view and its typical almost folk day life. Calçada da Ajuda which is being reconstructed drives you to the Palácio Nacional, to visit ABSOLUTLY.
Restelo, near Belem, is the very chic suburb of Lisbon where embassies and traditional families live side by side. Mostly composed by villas, the buildings in the top are not so exclusive but excellent amenities. In the part of Restelo closer to Belem, you will find some small villas more affordable some with a small yard. The main attraction of Restelo is the Careca pastry known for their Portuguese croissants and palmier. The life here is very quiet, very residential, a kind of Neuilly in its more residential spirit.
Ajuda and Belem have a very high search for short terms renting. In Ajuda there are still very good deals, old buildings to renovate, offering beautiful views for a reasonable price. The prices in Restelo are very high for villas, the investment has to be seen for the quality of life it offers, more than for a financial purpose.
